LifeCost ("we", "us", or "our") is a personal finance app that helps you understand purchases in terms of the life-time they cost. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

2. Information we collect

We collect information you provide when you create an account and use the app, including:

• Account details used to sign in, such as your email address.
• Financial information you enter, such as income, expenses, and related records needed to calculate life-cost.
• Basic technical data needed to operate the service, such as device and session information.

3. Authentication

We use Supabase to authenticate users and manage sessions. Authentication credentials and account records are processed by Supabase on our behalf so you can sign in securely and keep your data tied to your account.

4. How we use information

We use your information to:

• Create and maintain your account.
• Store and display the financial data you enter.
• Provide life-cost calculations and related product features.
• Secure the service, prevent abuse, and fix errors.

We do not use your data to build advertising profiles or to sell ads.

5. How we store and protect data

Your financial data is stored securely in our Supabase-backed database. Access is restricted to your authenticated account, and we apply reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect the data you trust us with.

6. Sharing and third parties

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use third-party advertising networks, and we do not engage in third-party ad tracking.

We share information only with service providers that help us operate LifeCost — in particular Supabase for authentication and data storage — and only as needed to provide the service, comply with law, or protect our rights.

7. Account deletion

You can delete your account at any time from within the LifeCost app. When you delete your account, we remove your account and associated financial data from our systems, except for limited records we may need to retain for security, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.

8. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize associated data unless a longer retention period is required by law.

9. Children

LifeCost is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of LifeCost after an update means you accept the revised policy.
